Abstract

The present invention relates to a synergistic composition and a process for the preparation of dense Dysprosium stabilised á-SiAlON by inventive steps of introducing SiO in the composition resulting into 2 dense product of the order of > 98% theoretical density with the advantages such as cost effectiveness, high hardness and high fracture toughness.
