Abstract

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has many promising applications in the areas ranging from photovoltaics and photocatalysis to photo/electrochromics and sensors. Here we report on the ammonia sensing performance of TiO2 nanoparticles, synthesized by a simple precipitation method at room temperature. The nanoparticles were characterized by UV-visspectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, SEM and TEM. Indigenous sensor modules have been fabricated using TiO2 nanoparticles and the key sensor parameters like sensitivity, optimal working temperature, and responseand recovery time of the sensors have been analyzed.
