Abstract

In order to find the environmental friendly materials for various possible applications in near future, We have synthesized a series of new complex perovskite oxides CaxNa1-x(Bi1/2Ti1/2)O-3 (CNBT) (where x = 0.00, 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75) by solid state reaction technique and studied the effect of Ca substitution in Na(Bi1/2Ti1/2)O-3 through the microstructure, dielectric and ferroelectric properties. The frequency dependence of the dielectric constant at room temperature shows that the value of dielectric constant increases with Ca2+ substitution at room temperature. The analysis of real part of the dielectric permittivity shows Debye like relaxation with frequency at room temperature. The polarization hysteresis loops plotted at room temperature reveal the ferroelectric property for all compositions of the CNBT samples.
