Roller head jiggering Machine, a modern tool to manufacture table wares was re-designed and used to develop the process of manufacturing table wares such as cups, mugs, saucers, plates etc. The process with techno - economic benefits including saving of energy was demonstrated to the local industries in and around Khurja. The paper described the manufacturing process and highlighted the major findings and benefits. Lighter weight, low shrinkage and porosity, higher strength, smooth finishes are some of the quality improvement observed compared to conventional Jigger-Jolly process. Major savings of energy was attributed towards the significant reduction in rejection during drying and firing stages. A trial in manufacturing Mugs by the developed Roller Head Jiggering machine shown as high as 98690100 KCal/year energy saving. It is expected that such findings will be highly useful for the pottery industries.
