Abstract
Cauliflower-like hierarchical silicalite-1 particles were synthesized using poly(acrylamide-co-diallyldimethylammonium chloride) co-polymer by a steam-assisted crystallization (SAC) method at 150 degrees C/72 h. Gold nanoparticles (5-20 nm) were impregnated into the synthesized silicalite-1 which showed excellent catalytic reduction of p-nitrophenol with an apparent rate constant and activity parameter of 7.7 x 10(-3) s(-1) and 146.4 s(-1) g(-1), respectively.
