Abstract

The indexing languages covering the subject field of glass technology in depth have been briefly surveyed to study their suitability for deep subject indexing of m i c r o documents in the field. The need for an information r e t r i e v a l thesaurus covering the subject has been s t r e s s e d . Development of a thesaurus on glass fibres and glass fibre reinforced plastics, has been attempted, and a part of the thesaurus has been incorporated in the paper with a descriptive introduction about the principles and design methodology adopted.
