Process for making calcium substituted lanthanum chromite dense products particularly suitable for application in solid oxide fuel cells that can be sintered to density of more than 95% of theoretical density at temperature of less than 1350°C in air, is claimed. A process for the fabrication of dense lanthanum chromite based sintered product that finds application in the fabrication of solid oxide fuel cell power pack is also claimed. The low sintering temperature helps in co-sintering of the monolithic solid oxide fuel cell components, and helps in efficient fabrication of solid oxide fuel cell.
