Abstract

We report the efficient tuning of lasing wavelength through distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser, using PZT macrofiber composite (MFC) actuator. The laser output power is not disturbed with imparted perturbation on output grating in DBR laser. The lasing wavelength tuning was uniform, linear, and has shown positive slope with driving voltage applied on MFC actuator. The sizes of MFC actuators show significant effect on the tuning of lasing wavelength. The certain criticalities of obtained results of lasing tuning, output power stability, and narrow line peak width have been reported.
