Reversible watermarking is a digital information security technique that enables the embedding of a watermark into data while allowing complete recovery of the original content upon extraction. This is particularly crucial in sensitive domains such as medical imaging and defense, where data integrity must be preserved. High-Level Synthesis (HLS) is a design methodology that facilitates the efficient hardware implemen- tation of algorithms by converting high-level code into hard- ware descriptions. Among reversible watermarking techniques, Reversible Contrast Mapping (RCM) is widely used due to its high embedding capacity and minimal distortion. This study employs an HLS-based approach to verify the VLSI architecture for RCM-based reversible watermarking on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). The design is verified and evaluated based on performance metrics. The delay for a single cycle is 159.626 ns at 150 MHz with a throughput of 5.992 ns and 39.342 Mbps for processing an 8x8 image block.
