Abstract

This paper aims to find out the current status of library software which uses by some of the important libraries in India and discuss those software's advantages and disadvantages for authority. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and national depository libraries have been considered for data collection. Data have been collected by viewing the respective web pages and by phone interviewing with the library staff. After analyzing the data, the result has come out that majority of Indian libraries use commercial library software.
