The consideration of quality, miniaturisation and lightness of automobile parts, resulting in fuel conservation in automobiles, has focused attention on aluminium alloys. In this paper, an attempt has been made to indicate a number of present and possible future applications of aluminium alloys for the manufacture of components through the powder metallurgical routes.
