Abstract

The bending characteristics of two-ring leakage-channel-fibers are investigated to achieve large-mode-area and effectively single-mode operation with a practically allowable bending radius for Yb-doped fiber applications, enhancing differential bending loss 10-dB/m between the fundamental and higher-order modes. © 2010 Eng Australia & Australia O.
